To view full Press Release please download file. April 17th, 2006 CEO presented with The Walter E. Reed Medal Dr. Sury Anand, CEO of Atlantis Health Plan, will be presented with The Walter E. Reed Medal at The Brooklyn Hospital Foundation's Founder Ball on Friday, June 2, 2006. Dr. Anand is being recognized for excellence in clinical practice and medical education, as well as his longstanding commitment to The Brooklyn Hospital Center. In 1976, after graduating from Stanley Medical College in Madras, India, he joined the Brooklyn Cumberland Medical Center for his internship and residency. He built his practice based on compassion and expertise and has performed over 20,000 endoscopic procedures at the hospital. Dr. Anand is Associate Chairman of Internal Medicine, Chief, Division of Gastroenterology and GI fellowship Program Director at the Brooklyn Hospital Center. He was President of the Professional Staff (1995-1997) and Chairman of the Medical Board (1996). The Walter E. Reed award is in honor of Brooklyn Hospital's most famous physician, Walter E. Reed who was instrumental in eradicating Yellow Fever.
