Approved in office tests and procedures
Procedures and Tests that are covered and can be performed in the physician's office
EKG Only PCPs and Cardiologists can perform EKGs in their offices when indicated.
Plain Xrays Only Orthopedic Surgeons can take plain xrays in their office when indicated.
CBC Only PCPs can perform CBC tests in their office. All other blood tests must be referred out to a contracted ancillary Laboratory provider.
Echocardiograms Only Cardiologists can perform echocardiograms when indicated. One per patient per year will be allowed. Any additional echocardiograms must be pre-authorized by Atlantis Health Plan's Health Services Department.
Pelvic Sonograms Only OBGYN providers can perform pelvic sonograms in their offices. A maximum of two sonograms per pregnancy will be allowed.
Rapid Strep Test Only Pediatric Primary Care Physicians can perform a rapid strep screen in office. Standard strep tests must be referred out to an ancillary Laboratory provider.
Only the tests listed above will be allowed in the physician's office. All other tests must be referred out to a contracted ancillary facility.
